Only LARGE expensive cities were reported. There are huge "holes" in the map where there should be significant employment opportunities. The one which would affect me personally is in the midwest. I'd be much more interested in cities such as Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, or St. Louis to name a few. There is NO WAY I'd relocate to any of the cities reported (well, maybe Seattle... I've always thought that might be an interesting region to live/work in). From personal experience, I can assure you that the salaries for experienced Software Engineers in this region are very good... maybe even extremely good when considering the cost of living here.

Thanks for the feedback.

I seems they only included the larger cities in a brief report. If it were conducted by a larger entity, say, the US Department of Labor, it would be more comprehensive.
